Ranking Up
Scouts advance by progressing through a series of ranks — Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life, and Eagle — by demonstrating mastery of required skills and knowledge. To advance, a Scout must learn the necessary skills, be tested by their leader, undergo a review by a board, and then be officially recognized for achieving a new rank.
Scouts learn new skills through participation in troop activities, meetings, various programs, summer camp, and independent study. Advancement Resources: Scouting America's Guide to Advancement Detailed Information About Advancement (Including Requirements by Rank) Additional Advancement Resources |
